I have a new favorite thing in the wonderful world of technology, you guys. My brother introduced me to GroupMe the other day, which allows you to group-text for free! It’s pretty straightforward: You just add a handful of friends to a group and start texting, and the texts show up all from one number on your phone, like a private chatroom over SMS. Better yet? You can even dial the number they assign to your group to conference call the entire group. Talk about PARTY IN YOUR POCKET!
My circle of friends and I have already been texting up a storm. It’s kind of like having a Google group mailing list. Or… an apple corer. Before you have it, you don’t even know what you’re missing out on. But once you do, it’s endlessly useful.
I can only imagine how practical it’d be for roommates and families. (“I locked myself out — is anyone home?” “Whose mittens are my apartment?”) Or coworkers. Or your ultimate frisbee league. Or anyone, really. You should probably get it now.
Thanks Teresa!
